COLLECTIBLES

Prior to the 2004 release of the Best of the Von Erichs DVD [right], the early '90s VHS tapes shown at left were the only "official" WCCW home video product available at retail outlets. (The 1987 video The Von Erichs: Front Row Ringside was available via mail order only.)

The Official Von Erich Family/World Class Championship Wrestling board game, released in 1985. Players drew cards to determine the moves their wrestler would execute; the pegboard was used to keep track of each wrestler's health. The babyfaces represented in the game included Kevin, Kerry and Mike Von Erich and Iceman King Parsons; on the heel side were Gino Hernandez, Chris Adams, Kelly Kiniski and One Man Gang.

On the back of the box was a short blurb which read:

"During the 1950's Fritz Von Erich and his brother Waldo provided professional wrestling with one of its most awesome tag teams. As Fritz's career flourished, fierce grudge matches developed with such greats as Gene Kiniski, whose son, Kelly currently battles the Von Erich boys. The Von Erichs, firmly established in wrestling history, continue their family tradition into the second generation. David, the oldest son, became a living legend before an untimely death ended his skyrocketing career. Kevin, Kerry and Mike continue to roll up impressive records as they become the Superstars of professional wrestling. Chris, the youngest son (not pictured), may someday enter the ring to claim his place in wrestling history."
